Made from the 181 Bordeaux clone, this wine was fermented with a yeast strain selected for modern, aromatic red wines with a supple palate. The use of svinatura (draining) ensured only the purest free-run wine was utilised. It then matured for 27 months in 91% neutral American oak and 9% second-use French oak, enhancing its structure, smooth texture and refined expression of fruit and spice.
Tasting Notes
On the nose, dark raspberries, cranberries and chocolate oranges invite you in, mingling with coffee bean oak and red licorice. The scent is enhanced by rosemary and a minty herbal mix. A hint of spice emerges on the mid-palate, with flavours of black mulberry and cardamom rounding out the experience. The wine presents a medium to long finish that melts away with finesse and a subtle, chalky tannin texture.
